Sending Notifications

Summary

Notifications are used on our platforms to inform users who are subscribed to channels that a new video has been added to the channel.

Users subscribe to a channel by clicking the follow button in it's header. Sometimes a button isn't present and this is usually done on purpose.

Sending a Notification

When publishing new videos you have the option to Save and Send Notification on the video record.

This will trigger the notification sent to followers of the relevant channels associated with the video.

Using the Save option only saves the changes you've made to the video record. This is the option you'll want to use if you've made updates to the record so users don't get bombarded with notifications.
