Validation and Feedback

The validation and feedback section of the quiz question allows you to control whether a question is compulsory or not and if the user should be given any text feedback on screen when answering questions.

Validation

There are two options under the Validation section; Required and Show Response Feedback. You can set these to true or false.

False switches off the appropriate settings so they will not impact your quiz.

When set to true:

  • The Required section will mean users cannot submit their quiz until they have selected an answer. The user would be shown text you can customise in the Feedback section when a user attempts to do this.
  • The Show Response Feedback option allows us to show text after the user has selected their answer. The user would be shown text you can customise in the Feedback section based on whether their answer is correct or incorrect.

Text entered in this section is only applicable if the corresponding section in Validation is set to true.

When Required is set to true you can add text to the Required field. This text would be shown if a user attempts to submit their quiz and the question has not been answered.

When Show Response Feedback is set to true there will be two fields to complete; Correct Responses and Incorrect Responses. The text entered into each field is what will appear on the user's screen once they've selected an answer. This can provide instant feedback and allow they to make changes before submitting the quiz to their CPD records.
