CPD Update Tool

Sometimes there can be an issue with the CPD entry of a user. When this happens it can be easily updated.

Updating a user's CPD entry is quite straight forward, but needs to be done carefully.

Instructions

Step 1 - Go to the ES Update Tool Content (hover) > ES Update Tool (click) or use one of the links below

Step 2 - In the list that appears, search for the CPD entry which needs updating. Use the relevant filters to narrow this down. Here is a list of the most common filters you might need to use:

Item Description
Video ID ID of the video a user has watched, found in the URL when editing the video.
Title Title of the video a user has watched.
Type Type of CPD that needs editing, look at the dropdown to view the different types.
Category The Category the CPD belongs to, look at the dropdown for the available options.
Region The Region the CPD has been recorded against. A user might have access to multiple to regions so this might help you narrow down specifics.
User ID ID of the user, found in the URL when editing a user profile using the People menu link.
Created Allows you to set a range for when the CPD was created.

Step 3 - Be careful here as changing the wrong entry may affect another user!

Step 4 - Edit the entry in question with the information corrected; the main changes are usually for points, duration, or verified.

You make your change by clicking directly into field you want to update in the filtered results, then updating the value, and pressing Enter on your keyboard.

Step 5 - No need to Save the entry as hitting Enter automatically does this.

Step 6 - Go and masquerade as the user to check the update you made is correct.

Calculating the duration

The duration is shown in seconds, so if the duration needs to be updated to 36 minutes and 20 seconds, you will need to do a calculation like this '36 x 60' to calculate the number of seconds for 36 minutes, then add '20' for the remaining seconds, which works out as (36x60)+20=2180.
