Creating a CPD/CE Team

Team CPD/CE

As companies look to monitor the learning of their staff we have developed a Team feature for Asset TV sites. This allows companies to create a team where a manager can view the CPD/CE activity of their team members.

Setting up a CPD/CE Team

To create a team go to Content > Team Management. The list of current teams will show with an edit option for each.

Click Add team at the top of the list. You can then complete the form as required.

Basics

To create a team here is the minimum information you will require:

  • Name of the team as it should appear on members CPD/CE pages, you can find this on the Group Details tab.
  • At least one email address to be set up as a Manager. This user will already need to be a registered user of the website. You can find this in the Managers tab.

Team Managers should be directed to the Asset TV support pages for details on how they can access the team and use the Team CPD features such as adding and removing team members, setting up team CPD playlists and downloading individuals CPD reports.

Tip

If a Manager manages multiple teams, they'll see a dropdown in the top right of their Team CPD/CE pages allowing them to switch teams. There will also be a list in the sidebar of their different teams.

Targets

Another thing you will need to configure for the team are their targets. To do this go into the Targets tab.

From here create a new target and give it a Name. Make the Name easy to understand, for example name it based on what the target is.

Team CE Target

On the US site, call the initial target Year and make sure it uses the 'Calendar' type using the settings below.

For the Type of target you need to select one of the options presented; these give it date ranges that can be toggled in the top right corner of the page (unless using the 'Date Range' selection):

  • Calendar - Gives the option of comparing the target information based on the current (Calendar) year vs the last two previous years.
  • Rolling - Similar to the Calendar option, expect you pick the date the year rolls into the next one.
  • Date Range - This one is very specific and only give you the option to check the target for a specific Date Range.

Target Filters

To set the criteria for a Target, you need to create a Filter for it. Go ahead and click Add new filter, in the Filters box.

Next give it a Name, for example if the target is to watch 30 hours of CPD a year, 30 hours might be a good name.

Then for the Type, select if the target is going to be based on time watched or points, if it's Time Watched, select Type as Duration, if it's Points, select the Type as Points.

Only South Africa uses Points

Please note, only South Africa will have the option to use points as a target.

(Optional & Advanced) The next step is optional, without it, it's just a total CPD Target.

Add the field name of the Elastic Search field you want to use to filter against in the Field text box. You could use category if you wanted the target to be for:

  • skills, knowledge, ethics - South Africa
  • structured or unstructured - The rest of the world

From the Operator dropdown, select =.

For the value you'd enter the appropriate information for the Field you selected, in this case of category, you'd use one of the values from the bullet points above.


Then you save the filter by clicking Create Filter.

Save the target by clicking Update Target.

Finally save the team by clicking Save at the bottom of the page.
