Setting up a Registration Form on VCP Live

Introduction

The Registration Form for a VCP event is called a Webform. These allow us to gather user information when someone registers for an event. They are used on most events requiring a user to provide their data to register interest and then set them up to access the event when it streams.

Instructions

There are two ways to create a Registration Form (Webform), one is by duplicating an existing one, the other is to use a template.

Create account on Asset TV UK

We have the ability for a user to automatically create an account on the UK site by registering for a VCP event. This is something the user needs to accept before their UK account is created. The checkbox for this feature is only present on a new form so if it is required for an event, please create a new form using a template, unless the form you're duplicating already has it on there.

  1. Navigate to the Webforms list by going to Admin > Structure > Webforms.
  2. Scroll down to the Webform you want to duplicate.
  3. Click the operations dropdown and select Duplicate.
  4. Modify any of the form fields that you need to make it suitable for your event.

Create Asset TV Account

All templates include a "Create Asset TV Account" check box. When used the system will use the reg form information to create and Asset TV account for the viewer. The region the account is created on is taken from the "Powered By" field on the Region / CPD tab of your VCP record.

From Templates

  1. Navigate to the Webforms list by selecting Admin > Structure > Webforms.
  2. Select the Templates tab and click Select on either of the below templates:
    • VCP Registration - off-white bg - modern styling, for off white background, uses vcp color for button.
    • VCP Registration - white bg - modern styling, for white background, uses vcp color for button.
  3. Next enter a Title for the form you want to create in the pop up window.
  4. The template form fields can then be edited to suit your event.

Manual Setup

Manual Setup of forms can be complicated and should only be completed by experienced users. You can find information on manually setting up a form in this guide

Webform Handlers

No matter which of the two methods you use, make sure to add the following handlers to your form:
