Creating a Poll

Introduction

A poll is like a quiz or survey, but as soon as it’s submitted the user can view the results.

Instructions

Use these instructions to create a poll. Attaching your Poll to content will be covered in the relevant guide for the type of content you are creating.

  1. Log in to the admin section
  2. From the top menu, select Content > Add Content > Advanced Poll.
  3. In the form that appear, complete all the fields:
    • Question - the question for this poll.
    • Description (optional) - a short description that appears under the poll question, but before the answers.
    • Domain access options - select the domains the poll should be available on.
    • Poll choice - there you add the options a user selects from for answers.
    • Maximum choices - the amount of answers a user can select.
    • Poll availability - the date the poll will be open between.
    • Close poll - if a poll is closed, the results will be shown without the option for a user to vote.
    • Display results - select how results for a poll will be shown.
    • To make sure the poll can be used and seen:
      • Go to the Publishing options tab.
      • Tick Published.
  4. Save the poll.

Viewing the Results

  1. Log in to the admin section
  2. From the top menu, select Content.
  3. Filter for Advanced Poll.
  4. Edit the poll you want to see the results for.
  5. At the top select Results. 6.Here you can view the results.

At the moment you can’t download a poll results CSV, if you require this, select votes and you can copy and paste the table into a spreadsheet program.

This guide only sets up a poll and shows you how to view the results. To attach it to a video, please use the appropriate guide for setting up the video/event/etc.
